Narrative:

En route to cleveland we had a fire detection problem which led to a left engine fire warning. We went through the procedures...shutting down left engine and fired the bottle. Indications showed a fire still existed. Firing second bottle the engine was visually checked and we ran the checklist again. Second check showed that this was a false indication. Fire indications and left engine were visually monitored with no further indications. Aircraft landed at cleveland without further incident. Maintenance check showed faulty fire detection.
