Narrative:

After making a not very smooth landing on runway 30R at stl, I exited the runway and called ground. Ground says give way to air carrier on papa, turn right, hold short of 30L at bravo. What he meant, apparently, was give way to an air carrier crossing 30L at hotel intersection then he would turn right on papa and pass in front of us waiting at november. As the air carrier's nose crossed papa I turned right onto papa thinking he was continuing straight ahead. He was just making a wide right turn and we ended up head to head on papa taxiway. Ground called, saying 'I wanted you to wait for the air carrier, can you do a 180 and clear papa'? I did and the air carrier passed uneventfully.

Title: COMMUTER LTT TURNED ONTO TAXIWAY P AS AN ACR MLG WAS TURNING ONTO TAXIWAY P ALSO FROM THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION.

Narrative: AFTER MAKING A NOT VERY SMOOTH LNDG ON RWY 30R AT STL, I EXITED THE RWY AND CALLED GND. GND SAYS GIVE WAY TO ACR ON PAPA, TURN R, HOLD SHORT OF 30L AT BRAVO. WHAT HE MEANT, APPARENTLY, WAS GIVE WAY TO AN ACR XING 30L AT HOTEL INTXN THEN HE WOULD TURN R ON PAPA AND PASS IN FRONT OF US WAITING AT NOVEMBER. AS THE ACR'S NOSE CROSSED PAPA I TURNED R ONTO PAPA THINKING HE WAS CONTINUING STRAIGHT AHEAD. HE WAS JUST MAKING A WIDE R TURN AND WE ENDED UP HEAD TO HEAD ON PAPA TAXIWAY. GND CALLED, SAYING 'I WANTED YOU TO WAIT FOR THE ACR, CAN YOU DO A 180 AND CLR PAPA'? I DID AND THE ACR PASSED UNEVENTFULLY.
