Narrative:

Approach control descended us to 3000 ft and informed us of a close to the marker turn onto the localizer 31R at dfw. Therefore the first officer slowed the aircraft down, so we could get the gear out and flaps down. We were still at 3000 ft. Indeed we intercepted the localizer at the marker at 3000 still ('dirty' airplane though). We were 'cleared for the ILS', approach control said. 'Little high, thanks!' I replied. First officer dove the aircraft down and we landed half way down the runway. I turned off at the end. I called approach on the telephone and complained. We never should have accepted the approach clearance, I feel. (We were too high for the approach WX was too low). Dfw is becoming an unsafe airport fast! Too much traffic; frequently no readbacks because of radio congestion. You can't get a word in. A lot of gars because traffic still on the runway in front of you. Taxi incidents, etc, etc. A serious accident is going to happen, soon!
