Narrative:

I had become distraction by making the PA and looking inside the cockpit to verify the altitude setting on the altitude alert. We received a TCAS traffic advisory; which rapidly changed to a resolution advisory, 'climb, climb,' at 10700-10600 ft I disconnected the autoplt and autothrottles and with pitch and power sought to bring the aircraft to the 1200 FPM climb, which was the green arc on the TCAS vsi. At 11000 ft, the advisory changed to monitor vertical speed then clear of conflict. We advised ATC of our climb to the TCAS resolution, expecting some sort of information on how close we had come. The controller had no comment. There were numerous other VFR targets on the TCAS screen and other approach preparations to complete, and I decided not to pursue the issue.

Title: FLC OF MLG ON DSCNT RECEIVED A TCASII RA AND CLBED UNTIL TA CLRED.

Narrative: I HAD BECOME DISTR BY MAKING THE PA AND LOOKING INSIDE THE COCKPIT TO VERIFY THE ALT SETTING ON THE ALT ALERT. WE RECEIVED A TCAS TFC ADVISORY; WHICH RAPIDLY CHANGED TO A RESOLUTION ADVISORY, 'CLB, CLB,' AT 10700-10600 FT I DISCONNECTED THE AUTOPLT AND AUTOTHROTTLES AND WITH PITCH AND PWR SOUGHT TO BRING THE ACFT TO THE 1200 FPM CLB, WHICH WAS THE GREEN ARC ON THE TCAS VSI. AT 11000 FT, THE ADVISORY CHANGED TO MONITOR VERT SPD THEN CLR OF CONFLICT. WE ADVISED ATC OF OUR CLB TO THE TCAS RESOLUTION, EXPECTING SOME SORT OF INFO ON HOW CLOSE WE HAD COME. THE CTLR HAD NO COMMENT. THERE WERE NUMEROUS OTHER VFR TARGETS ON THE TCAS SCREEN AND OTHER APCH PREPARATIONS TO COMPLETE, AND I DECIDED NOT TO PURSUE THE ISSUE.
