Narrative:

On approach to bos logan, on the ILS. WX variable visibility poor with ground fog and rain. At about 1000 ft above the ground, tower cleared widebody transport Y into position for immediate takeoff. I slowed down to allow more separation. Tower again cleared widebody transport Y for 'immediate', and stressed the word. When we broke out he was just disappearing into the murk. On landing roll we were buffeted. It occurred to me if we had had to go around it would have been in the same flight path as the widebody transport Y departure. Also, the taxiway marking and lighting at bos are terrible! Especially bad at night in rain and fog.
