Narrative:

Departing sna, ca, for a primary training flight in an small aircraft. After departure the radio became intermittent. After clearing the arsa I squawked 1200 and continued the lesson. I tried all that I could to get the radio to work. Squawking 7600 I transmitted in the blind to coast approach stating my intentions and situation. After entering the arsa, I stated and switched frequency to orange county tower. I stated my intentions and situation, transmitting in the blind. I received appropriate light gun signals to land, then to taxi back. I did notice a jet going around.
