Narrative:

Heading 120 degree to sat. Contacted sat approach on 125.1 and was told to squawk 0403. Reported position several times while inbound. At first, believed overridden by numerous inbound jet traffic. Was in traffic flow when I discovered electrical failure, secured all electrical except radio. Contacted approach and was told to stay clear of arsa though was in by 2 mi. Turned north by control. Realized level of approaching darkness (night). Declared emergency. Cleared for runway 12R at sat. Declared emergency because of heavy jet traffic and airport I had just left had radio controled lighting.
