Narrative:

Dca ground control cleared flight to taxi to runway 36 follow a widebody transport. We crossed runway 3 to get to the hold area for 36, the ground controller stated he did not give us clearance to cross runway 3. We stated that he gave us clearance to taxi to 36 follow widebody transport only. There was no conflict with any ground or air traffic whatsoever.

Narrative: DCA GND CTL CLRED FLT TO TAXI TO RWY 36 FOLLOW A WDB. WE CROSSED RWY 3 TO GET TO THE HOLD AREA FOR 36, THE GND CTLR STATED HE DID NOT GIVE US CLRNC TO CROSS RWY 3. WE STATED THAT HE GAVE US CLRNC TO TAXI TO 36 FOLLOW WDB ONLY. THERE WAS NO CONFLICT WITH ANY GND OR AIR TFC WHATSOEVER.
