Narrative:

I was in level flight on autoplt when I noticed aircraft had climbed 200' above assigned altitude. I attempted to correct with the csi switch west/O success. At the same time, my passenger thought she smelled smoke. We both felt some heat as though the heater was pulled on, which it wasn't. I turned off the electric trim and autoplt and called the controller and said I wanted to make a precautionary landing at mvy. After switching to mvy tower frequency, I heard mvy tower close the field for other traffic. I made a normal landing west/O incident or damage. After consulting with mechanics and techs, I returned to my home base, mtn, the following day with the electric trim and autoplt off. The trim is being repaired now. The mvy crash truck and airport operations functioned perfectly. I can't think of any special improvements. The performance of all concerned was excellent.
