Narrative:

Captain and I were cleared for takeoff on runway 28 at cle en route to syr. On takeoff roll the aural warning for the elevator trim sounded so we aborted. The captain looked to see if the trim was in limits which it was. After we got off the runway I realized what had happened. It seemed to me that the control yoke was coming up too soon so I tried to give it nose down trim electrically. The trim switch is split and both parts must be engaged or the warning comes on. I must have only depressed half of the switch thoroughly which gave us the trim warning. We agreed it was my fault and there was no mechanical problem, we proceeded back to runway 28. The takeoff was fine, no problems. We also failed to notify the proper people of what happened.
