Narrative:

Being cleared for takeoff on 8L, power levers were advised before brake release. Aircraft veered right on runway. We aborted and cleared the runway. All engine indications appeared normal. We thought it had been jet blast from an aircraft holding short on the parallel runway, so we elected to takeoff again. This time we pulled on runway in a position where jet blast wouldn't affect us. Once again power levers were advanced and we felt the same right turn. We then realized there was a mechanical problem and taxied back to the gate.
