Narrative:

On the ground taxiing out for takeoff dfw-aca. Inadvertently taxied onto active runway 17R from taxiway 18. No traffic on the ground at any nearby position. Went to tower frequency 126.55 and heard, 'cleared....' possibly interpreted tower clearance to be meant for our aircraft and taxied past the hold line. About at the hold line I looked at the runway approach area and saw an aircraft (propeller commuter) on final about 200' AGL. I stopped my aircraft about 50' past the hold line and called tower to inform them. Tower told aircraft on final to go around and cleared me across the runway 17R to takeoff on 17L. This international flight was with passenger while performing training for initial operating experience for the first officer. Briefing operational items while performing checklist items, while listening to tower while taxiing the aircraft while teaching pertinent local operations (different from other airports) while performing certain first officer duties or paying more attention than normal to other happenings. A solution is no training during passenger flts or more complete ground training outside the cockpit. Note: the aircraft was stopped and the aircraft on final was in sight before we called the tower.

Title: ACR MLG UNAUTH RWY ENTRY CAUSES COMMUTER SMT TO GO AROUND.

Narrative: ON THE GND TAXIING OUT FOR TKOF DFW-ACA. INADVERTENTLY TAXIED ONTO ACTIVE RWY 17R FROM TXWY 18. NO TFC ON THE GND AT ANY NEARBY POS. WENT TO TWR FREQ 126.55 AND HEARD, 'CLRED....' POSSIBLY INTERPRETED TWR CLRNC TO BE MEANT FOR OUR ACFT AND TAXIED PAST THE HOLD LINE. ABOUT AT THE HOLD LINE I LOOKED AT THE RWY APCH AREA AND SAW AN ACFT (PROP COMMUTER) ON FINAL ABOUT 200' AGL. I STOPPED MY ACFT ABOUT 50' PAST THE HOLD LINE AND CALLED TWR TO INFORM THEM. TWR TOLD ACFT ON FINAL TO GO AROUND AND CLRED ME ACROSS THE RWY 17R TO TKOF ON 17L. THIS INTERNATIONAL FLT WAS WITH PAX WHILE PERFORMING TRAINING FOR INITIAL OPERATING EXPERIENCE FOR THE F/O. BRIEFING OPERATIONAL ITEMS WHILE PERFORMING CHKLIST ITEMS, WHILE LISTENING TO TWR WHILE TAXIING THE ACFT WHILE TEACHING PERTINENT LCL OPS (DIFFERENT FROM OTHER ARPTS) WHILE PERFORMING CERTAIN F/O DUTIES OR PAYING MORE ATTN THAN NORMAL TO OTHER HAPPENINGS. A SOLUTION IS NO TRAINING DURING PAX FLTS OR MORE COMPLETE GND TRAINING OUTSIDE THE COCKPIT. NOTE: THE ACFT WAS STOPPED AND THE ACFT ON FINAL WAS IN SIGHT BEFORE WE CALLED THE TWR.
