Narrative:

Following normal landing on runway 6 at teb, we apparently were told, 'turn left taxiway B and hold short of runway 1.' I didn't hear the 'hold short,' but my copilot acknowledged the transmission. On taxiway B prior to crossing runway 1, I noticed an aircraft in position on the runway and thought he was holding, awaiting takeoff clearance. I continued to taxi across runway 1 to my parking area. While parking ground controller informed me I had crossed an active runway west/O permission, and the aircraft on that runway had been cleared for takeoff and heading begun his takeoff roll. My conclusions: 1) I crossed an active runway west/O clearance--a gross error. 2) there was lack of proper communication between pilot and copilot.

Title: ACR CROSSES ACTIVE RWY WHEN TOLD HOLD SHORT.

Narrative: FOLLOWING NORMAL LNDG ON RWY 6 AT TEB, WE APPARENTLY WERE TOLD, 'TURN LEFT TXWY B AND HOLD SHORT OF RWY 1.' I DIDN'T HEAR THE 'HOLD SHORT,' BUT MY COPLT ACKNOWLEDGED THE XMISSION. ON TXWY B PRIOR TO XING RWY 1, I NOTICED AN ACFT IN POS ON THE RWY AND THOUGHT HE WAS HOLDING, AWAITING TKOF CLRNC. I CONTINUED TO TAXI ACROSS RWY 1 TO MY PARKING AREA. WHILE PARKING GND CTLR INFORMED ME I HAD CROSSED AN ACTIVE RWY W/O PERMISSION, AND THE ACFT ON THAT RWY HAD BEEN CLRED FOR TKOF AND HDG BEGUN HIS TKOF ROLL. MY CONCLUSIONS: 1) I CROSSED AN ACTIVE RWY W/O CLRNC--A GROSS ERROR. 2) THERE WAS LACK OF PROPER COM BTWN PLT AND COPLT.
