Narrative:

Original 135.295 chkride was passed 4/90. Therefore, next 135.295 was due in 10/90. On 9/90 passed a 135.295 ride in a different type aircraft of same category and class. The ride in 9/90 fell into the grace month provisions of 135.301. It was determined that next 135.295 would be due in 4/91, or 6 months after due date of previous 135.295 check since ride on 9/90 was in the early grace month. Next 135.295 ride was not done until 5/91. I thought this was legal as it was the late grace month of the original 135.295 due date. Company director of training informed me that flts in 5/91 were illegal because the 135.295 chkride in 9/90 reset the due date schedule.
