Narrative:

Assigned grzzz three departure from runway 8 with a 10;000 feet MSL altitude limit. Flew departure as published. Contacted abq departure approaching tyilr. Shortly after tyilr told to 'climb via SID.' continued climb to 20;000 feet MSL per SID. Accelerated to climb speed of 280 kcas passing tyilr and followed FMS lateral track towards rowho. During turn towards rowho; departure became concerned with our proximity to terrain northeast of abq and began issuing vectors. Crew complied with vectors. Crew was monitoring positioning regarding terrain visually and via synthetic vision on displays. At no point was terrain a threat and no egpws warnings were observed. After a short period of vectoring; flight resumed without further incident. The grzzz three departure does not adequately constrain/define the desired lateral track between tyilr and rowho. There is no speed constraint for the turn nor track constraint inbound to rowho. Because of this the lateral path will vary based on turn radius which is a function of aircraft climb speed. If a specific track is desired inbound to rowho; suggest that the procedure be modified to specify desired track to rowho.
