Narrative:

Wake turbulence-induced upset recovery at 6000 feet MSL which resulted in no damage or injuries. Upon executing the upset recovery procedure I asked ATC for a level off and inquired what was in front of us; to which I was told a crj 200; and a heavy B747 which was about 10 miles ahead and descending into atl as well. TCAS and visual confirmation of this traffic was achieved. Given the traffic was ten miles away from us; nearly double the minimum safe distance; I am not sure that this could have been anticipated by any party involved.
