Narrative:

On the ILS 4 at jvl, I had just been released by rockford approach (radar service terminated), contact tower at weave (OM). I so reported and was told by the controller to proceed inbound, many aircraft in the pattern, will sort out your sequence when closer. I did so, saw an aircraft on right base for four about 150' to my right diagonal about at my altitude. I turned left. He saw me and turned left also. The controller broke in an told us to turn (just after each of us had initiated same). Both acknowledged. He told me to take up a right base for 36. Much traffic on the radio, many planes on right base for both 4 and 36. By this time, I had positioned myself wsw of the airport and climbing on the look out for any planes making a left pattern for either 4 or 36. I requested a turn to a left base to 4. He cleared me for a right base to 36. I stated my position relative to the airport. He saw me the 'west of the airport' and cleared me for a left turn to a left base to runway 4. The landing proceeded west/O incident. I felt both pilots were alert and managed the incident well. This is an airport with a popular restaurant (especially on sunday morning!) and most of us in the area are very aware of how busy it can be. I think the tower misidented my aircraft plus my requests to take up a right base to 36. This is another good exercise for me in seeing and avoiding!

Narrative: ON THE ILS 4 AT JVL, I HAD JUST BEEN RELEASED BY ROCKFORD APCH (RADAR SVC TERMINATED), CONTACT TWR AT WEAVE (OM). I SO RPTED AND WAS TOLD BY THE CTLR TO PROCEED INBND, MANY ACFT IN THE PATTERN, WILL SORT OUT YOUR SEQUENCE WHEN CLOSER. I DID SO, SAW AN ACFT ON R BASE FOR FOUR ABOUT 150' TO MY R DIAGONAL ABOUT AT MY ALT. I TURNED L. HE SAW ME AND TURNED L ALSO. THE CTLR BROKE IN AN TOLD US TO TURN (JUST AFTER EACH OF US HAD INITIATED SAME). BOTH ACKNOWLEDGED. HE TOLD ME TO TAKE UP A R BASE FOR 36. MUCH TFC ON THE RADIO, MANY PLANES ON R BASE FOR BOTH 4 AND 36. BY THIS TIME, I HAD POSITIONED MYSELF WSW OF THE ARPT AND CLBING ON THE LOOK OUT FOR ANY PLANES MAKING A L PATTERN FOR EITHER 4 OR 36. I REQUESTED A TURN TO A L BASE TO 4. HE CLRED ME FOR A R BASE TO 36. I STATED MY POS RELATIVE TO THE ARPT. HE SAW ME THE 'W OF THE ARPT' AND CLRED ME FOR A L TURN TO A L BASE TO RWY 4. THE LNDG PROCEEDED W/O INCIDENT. I FELT BOTH PLTS WERE ALERT AND MANAGED THE INCIDENT WELL. THIS IS AN ARPT WITH A POPULAR RESTAURANT (ESPECIALLY ON SUNDAY MORNING!) AND MOST OF US IN THE AREA ARE VERY AWARE OF HOW BUSY IT CAN BE. I THINK THE TWR MISIDENTED MY ACFT PLUS MY REQUESTS TO TAKE UP A R BASE TO 36. THIS IS ANOTHER GOOD EXERCISE FOR ME IN SEEING AND AVOIDING!
