Narrative:

Light transport unable to comply with climb to assigned altitude of FL240 as emergency pressure system activated when cabin altitude rose above 8750'. Bleed air noise and heat distracted pilots. Aircraft had to descend to 6000' to sort out problem (bleed air switch needed to be reset). Cabin air switch missed on takeoff checklist, allowing cabin to climb unpressurized. Pilot's should be more familiar with aircraft system. Checklist challenge and response should be adhered to.
