Narrative:

I landed on 26L at den and was cleared off the high speed to the parallel down to taxiway C2 to hold short of 26R. I heard the term, 'expedite across 26R,' but did not catch our call sign. The copilot verified that we were cleared to cross 26R. I looked to my right and saw a commuter aircraft clearing the runway and another company aircraft crossing the 26R runway. I crossed. As I crossed, I saw another commuter aircraft Y on the runway going at a fairly high speed. The sep was closer than normal at den. When I first looked to my right, the 2 aircraft exiting and crossing 26R ha blocked my view of the landing aircraft. I was very surprised to see the landing aircraft approaching C2 taxiway. I was stopped and holding short of 26R at taxiway C2 for more than 1 min prior to crossing the 26R runway. I have no certainty of ever hearing our call sign but when confirmed by the other pilot, was convinced that we had been cleared to cross. Anticipating the clearance to cross and visually seeing 2 other aircraft on the runway (and confirmation from my fellow pilot) convinced me that we had been cleared across. The proximity of the aircraft on the runway made me question our clearance to cross, but I was already committed to cross. What can be done to prevent a recurrence? From the pilot's standpoint, listening closer and not anticipating the clearance call. From the tower operator, when clearing 1 aircraft to cross a runway when another is holding short, a call reminding the holding aircraft to remain holding short. Supplemental information from acn 174976: I was not notified of the incident until 8 days later. Evidently I acknowledged a clearance to cross runway 26R for another aircraft. An unidented aircraft rolling out on 26R apparently noticed a conflict and reported the incident. I have no recollection of the aircraft rolling out or a conflict existing. I may have preoccupied with normal company procedures (i.e., calling to confirm gate assignment or normal checklist procedures) at the time of suspected incident. It's possible I was distracted by other actions inside the cockpit (i.e., telling passenger to remain seated, as we were not yet parked at the gate) at the time of the suspected incident.

Title: ACR MLG FLT CROSSES ACTIVE RWY WITHOUT CLRNC AT DEN, EXPERIENCES CONFLICT WITH LNDG COMMUTER ACFT.

Narrative: I LANDED ON 26L AT DEN AND WAS CLRED OFF THE HIGH SPD TO THE PARALLEL DOWN TO TXWY C2 TO HOLD SHORT OF 26R. I HEARD THE TERM, 'EXPEDITE ACROSS 26R,' BUT DID NOT CATCH OUR CALL SIGN. THE COPLT VERIFIED THAT WE WERE CLRED TO CROSS 26R. I LOOKED TO MY RIGHT AND SAW A COMMUTER ACFT CLRING THE RWY AND ANOTHER COMPANY ACFT XING THE 26R RWY. I CROSSED. AS I CROSSED, I SAW ANOTHER COMMUTER ACFT Y ON THE RWY GOING AT A FAIRLY HIGH SPD. THE SEP WAS CLOSER THAN NORMAL AT DEN. WHEN I FIRST LOOKED TO MY RIGHT, THE 2 ACFT EXITING AND XING 26R HA BLOCKED MY VIEW OF THE LNDG ACFT. I WAS VERY SURPRISED TO SEE THE LNDG ACFT APCHING C2 TXWY. I WAS STOPPED AND HOLDING SHORT OF 26R AT TXWY C2 FOR MORE THAN 1 MIN PRIOR TO XING THE 26R RWY. I HAVE NO CERTAINTY OF EVER HEARING OUR CALL SIGN BUT WHEN CONFIRMED BY THE OTHER PLT, WAS CONVINCED THAT WE HAD BEEN CLRED TO CROSS. ANTICIPATING THE CLRNC TO CROSS AND VISUALLY SEEING 2 OTHER ACFT ON THE RWY (AND CONFIRMATION FROM MY FELLOW PLT) CONVINCED ME THAT WE HAD BEEN CLRED ACROSS. THE PROX OF THE ACFT ON THE RWY MADE ME QUESTION OUR CLRNC TO CROSS, BUT I WAS ALREADY COMMITTED TO CROSS. WHAT CAN BE DONE TO PREVENT A RECURRENCE? FROM THE PLT'S STANDPOINT, LISTENING CLOSER AND NOT ANTICIPATING THE CLRNC CALL. FROM THE TWR OPERATOR, WHEN CLRING 1 ACFT TO CROSS A RWY WHEN ANOTHER IS HOLDING SHORT, A CALL REMINDING THE HOLDING ACFT TO REMAIN HOLDING SHORT. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 174976: I WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE INCIDENT UNTIL 8 DAYS LATER. EVIDENTLY I ACKNOWLEDGED A CLRNC TO CROSS RWY 26R FOR ANOTHER ACFT. AN UNIDENTED ACFT ROLLING OUT ON 26R APPARENTLY NOTICED A CONFLICT AND RPTED THE INCIDENT. I HAVE NO RECOLLECTION OF THE ACFT ROLLING OUT OR A CONFLICT EXISTING. I MAY HAVE PREOCCUPIED WITH NORMAL COMPANY PROCS (I.E., CALLING TO CONFIRM GATE ASSIGNMENT OR NORMAL CHKLIST PROCS) AT THE TIME OF SUSPECTED INCIDENT. IT'S POSSIBLE I WAS DISTRACTED BY OTHER ACTIONS INSIDE THE COCKPIT (I.E., TELLING PAX TO REMAIN SEATED, AS WE WERE NOT YET PARKED AT THE GATE) AT THE TIME OF THE SUSPECTED INCIDENT.
