Narrative:

On approach to gso, attempted landing gear extension. I heard nose gear extend, but got only 1 red nose wheel light. Repeated 3 cycles with same result. Pilot handbook only suggested manual gear extension. We had normal hydraulics and this concerned me. Directed to clt in case manual extension was unsuccessful. About 17 mins on the way we worked through the problem and briefed the cabin crew. Decided to check circuit breaker panels just in case (even though we had gear handle function and some gear lights (1 red). Found air/ground circuit breaker popped. We reset circuit breaker and found that the gear extended normally. Landed at clt west/O incident. This circuit breaker should have been in the 'abnormal gear extension section.' it wasn't. We had little time to decide to stay at gso or divert because of no alternate fuel and only 30 mins holding. Perfectly legal fuel load because of VFR WX, but not much margin if things unexpected happen. I have seen even less margin on many releases of late, supposedly in the interest of saving fuel costs. It all looks good on paper, but emergencys are never included. The captain always can up the fuel (I do often; 30 mins holding or the closest diversion airport is my minimum fuel), but there is a subtle pressure to go and be efficient.

Title: POPPED CIRCUIT BREAKER PRECLUDED FLT CREW FROM GETTING 3 GREEN LIGHTS UPON GEAR EXTENSION. REPORTER CLAIMS THAT ABNORMAL CHECKLIST DID NOT CONTAIN INFORMATION REGARDING BREAKER TO BE CHECKED FOR PROPER GEAR LIGHT INDICATION. FLT HANDBOOK REFERENCE ONLY TO MANUAL EXTENSION.
