Narrative:

During night VFR takeoff, when power was advanced to 1.5 EPR, left oil strainer clogging light on annunciator panel and master caution lights came on. Lights went out when power was reduced, but came on again when power was reapplied (again at 1.5 EPR). Aborted takeoff at approximately 30 KTS. Taxied back to gate with no assistance required. Item was cleared by maintenance after inspection of filters and we departed the gate a second time 1 hour later. When power was applied for takeoff, the exact situation occurred again, only this time with the right oil strainer clogging lights. Discontinued takeoff once again at approximately 30 KTS and taxied back to gate with no assistance required. The fact that the right light came on on the second attempt, of course planted and the seed of doubt about the correctness of what we had seen on the first attempt. However, to the best of our recollection, the sequence of events occurred as described. Crew had been on duty about 12 hours with 3 legs of flight already that day. Conditions were night VFR with fairly windy conditions at sea. It was discovered after the second return that the right engine had a history of oil strainer clogging lights. Supplemental information from acn 172331: I commented to captain that oil had just been added to right engine in sea 1 hour earlier. The captain said he'd seen the left oil strainer clogging light. Back at the gate, we found out that the aircraft had a history of oil strainer clogging lights, west/O any clogging.

Title: ACR MLG TKOF ABORT WHEN LIGHT FILTER BYPASS LIGHT CAME ON AT START OF TKOF ROLL.

Narrative: DURING NIGHT VFR TKOF, WHEN PWR WAS ADVANCED TO 1.5 EPR, LEFT OIL STRAINER CLOGGING LIGHT ON ANNUNCIATOR PANEL AND MASTER CAUTION LIGHTS CAME ON. LIGHTS WENT OUT WHEN PWR WAS REDUCED, BUT CAME ON AGAIN WHEN PWR WAS REAPPLIED (AGAIN AT 1.5 EPR). ABORTED TKOF AT APPROX 30 KTS. TAXIED BACK TO GATE WITH NO ASSISTANCE REQUIRED. ITEM WAS CLRED BY MAINT AFTER INSPECTION OF FILTERS AND WE DEPARTED THE GATE A SECOND TIME 1 HR LATER. WHEN PWR WAS APPLIED FOR TKOF, THE EXACT SITUATION OCCURRED AGAIN, ONLY THIS TIME WITH THE RIGHT OIL STRAINER CLOGGING LIGHTS. DISCONTINUED TKOF ONCE AGAIN AT APPROX 30 KTS AND TAXIED BACK TO GATE WITH NO ASSISTANCE REQUIRED. CREW HAD BEEN ON DUTY ABOUT 12 HRS WITH 3 LEGS OF FLT ALREADY THAT DAY. CONDITIONS WERE NIGHT VFR WITH FAIRLY WINDY CONDITIONS AT SEA. IT WAS DISCOVERED AFTER THE SECOND RETURN THAT THE RIGHT ENG HAD A HISTORY OF OIL STRAINER CLOGGING LIGHTS. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 172331: I COMMENTED TO CAPT THAT OIL HAD JUST BEEN ADDED TO RIGHT ENG IN SEA 1 HR EARLIER. THE CAPT SAID HE'D SEEN THE LEFT OIL STRAINER CLOGGING LIGHT. BACK AT THE GATE, WE FOUND OUT THAT THE ACFT HAD A HISTORY OF OIL STRAINER CLOGGING LIGHTS, W/O ANY CLOGGING.
