Narrative:

On descent into mco, #1 engine fire light and bell came on. The engine was shut down and fire bottle fired. The fire light extinguished and the appropriate emergency checklists were accomplished. An emergency was declared and the emergency equipment was standing by. We landed with no further problem and were checked by the emergency personnel. No problems were found by them and we taxied to our gate. Upon being clearance from 8000 to 5000' while single engine after declared an emergency, we flew through 5000' and leveled off at 4500', then climbed up to 5000'.

Title: ENGINE SHUTDOWN AND EMERGENCY DECLARED DUE TO ENGINE FIRE WARNING. ALT BUST DURING INITIAL DESCENT.

Narrative: ON DSNT INTO MCO, #1 ENG FIRE LIGHT AND BELL CAME ON. THE ENG WAS SHUT DOWN AND FIRE BOTTLE FIRED. THE FIRE LIGHT EXTINGUISHED AND THE APPROPRIATE EMER CHKLISTS WERE ACCOMPLISHED. AN EMER WAS DECLARED AND THE EMER EQUIP WAS STANDING BY. WE LANDED WITH NO FURTHER PROB AND WERE CHKED BY THE EMER PERSONNEL. NO PROBS WERE FOUND BY THEM AND WE TAXIED TO OUR GATE. UPON BEING CLRNC FROM 8000 TO 5000' WHILE SINGLE ENG AFTER DECLARED AN EMER, WE FLEW THROUGH 5000' AND LEVELED OFF AT 4500', THEN CLBED UP TO 5000'.
