Narrative:

Following arwy down J-75 from solberg VOR, controller asked our heading. We were exactly on course, but he gave us a heading to 'avoid a restr area.' I wasn't aware of the restr area, and think that all 'hot' areas should be on our NOTAMS prior to flight. There is much confusion in the ATC system these days with all the nonrelevant items I receive prior to flight I sometimes wonder how much 'important' stuff is missing.
