Narrative:

Ilm has a new airline terminal and ramp. Connecting this new terminal ramp to taxiway a (parallel taxiway to runway 16-34) is a taxiway with normal markings (yellow centerline, etc) which is not supposed to be used by airline aircraft, however, there is no depiction on back of commercial chart company airport diagram. Very confusing to airline crews. How about a sign? Ie, no heavy aircraft. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information. Contacted the air traffic manager to determine the taxiway that the reporter referred. The atm stated the taxiway was called taxiway 'D' and it is not used today by air carrier aircraft. It is not depicted on the taxi chart because airport management now calls the taxiway an access path to customs and a fixed base operator hangar area. The tower has classified this area as a non-movement area. The atm has complained to the airport official about air carrier aircraft taxiing on this unmarked taxiway. The atm did state that the airport is in progress of installing new/better taxiway signs. They have claimed that they will mark the access path and place no jets allowed.

Title: ACFT TAXIED ON AN OLD ABANDON TXWY THAT IS NOT MARKED.

Narrative: ILM HAS A NEW AIRLINE TERMINAL AND RAMP. CONNECTING THIS NEW TERMINAL RAMP TO TXWY A (PARALLEL TXWY TO RWY 16-34) IS A TXWY WITH NORMAL MARKINGS (YELLOW CTRLINE, ETC) WHICH IS NOT SUPPOSED TO BE USED BY AIRLINE ACFT, HOWEVER, THERE IS NO DEPICTION ON BACK OF COMMERCIAL CHART COMPANY ARPT DIAGRAM. VERY CONFUSING TO AIRLINE CREWS. HOW ABOUT A SIGN? IE, NO HVY ACFT. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO. CONTACTED THE AIR TFC MGR TO DETERMINE THE TXWY THAT THE RPTR REFERRED. THE ATM STATED THE TXWY WAS CALLED TXWY 'D' AND IT IS NOT USED TODAY BY ACR ACFT. IT IS NOT DEPICTED ON THE TAXI CHART BECAUSE ARPT MGMNT NOW CALLS THE TXWY AN ACCESS PATH TO CUSTOMS AND A FIXED BASE OPERATOR HANGAR AREA. THE TWR HAS CLASSIFIED THIS AREA AS A NON-MOVEMENT AREA. THE ATM HAS COMPLAINED TO THE ARPT OFFICIAL ABOUT ACR ACFT TAXIING ON THIS UNMARKED TXWY. THE ATM DID STATE THAT THE ARPT IS IN PROGRESS OF INSTALLING NEW/BETTER TXWY SIGNS. THEY HAVE CLAIMED THAT THEY WILL MARK THE ACCESS PATH AND PLACE NO JETS ALLOWED.
