Narrative:

Requested permission from nax cecil tower to transition naval airspace for purpose of taking photographs along and in the vicinity of I10. After photographing in area for approximately 20 mins, updated controller on our position and were told to remain clear of cecil and whitehouse airspace. I believe controller did not completely understand the request that he approved. His tone of voice indicated that our actions were not what he expected. Situation could have been improved if both controller and pilot (myself) had taken greater care to be more specific about exactly what had been requested and approved.
