Narrative:

During my solo xc after having clearance from ZZZ tower to land on runway xx. I followed procedures for landing and landed. After flaring and touching down runway xx; I applied back elevators pressure; and waited until airspeed of the plane slowed down then I applied left and right breaks at the same time. Due to uneven braking; the plane skidded off the runway and onto grass on the left side of runway xx. I was then told to shut down the engine. I immediately informed my flight instructor about the incident and was escorted by operations to the FBO where I also provided [airport personnel] with a statement.
