Narrative:

Fll tower cleared us in position and hold on runway 9L. We taxied into position as a light twin engine aircraft touched down near midfield on the 9000' runway. We held in position for a short period (30-40 seconds) and were cleared for takeoff. I acknowledged takeoff clearance and looked down the runway as the captain advanced the power. The runway was clear and I trimmed maximum takeoff thrust as we were about 2000 pounds below maximum gross weight of 175000 pounds. I monitored engine instruments and called V1 at 135 KTS. At the same time the captain called 'aircraft on the runway' and rapidly rotated and pulled the large transport X off the runway. We rotated between V1 and vr and were airborne near taxiway Q with the light twin about 1000-1500' ahead of us on centerline of the runway taxiing down the runway (same direction). We passed about 50' over the top of the light twin about 1000' before the end of the runway. After gear retraction I called the tower and reported the twin was still on the runway. The twin was a light yellow/beige color which made it difficult to see on the light colored runway.

Title: LGT X DEPARTED ON AN OCCUPIED RWY.

Narrative: FLL TWR CLRED US IN POS AND HOLD ON RWY 9L. WE TAXIED INTO POS AS A LIGHT TWIN ENG ACFT TOUCHED DOWN NEAR MIDFIELD ON THE 9000' RWY. WE HELD IN POS FOR A SHORT PERIOD (30-40 SECS) AND WERE CLRED FOR TKOF. I ACKNOWLEDGED TKOF CLRNC AND LOOKED DOWN THE RWY AS THE CAPT ADVANCED THE PWR. THE RWY WAS CLR AND I TRIMMED MAX TKOF THRUST AS WE WERE ABOUT 2000 LBS BELOW MAX GROSS WEIGHT OF 175000 LBS. I MONITORED ENG INSTRUMENTS AND CALLED V1 AT 135 KTS. AT THE SAME TIME THE CAPT CALLED 'ACFT ON THE RWY' AND RAPIDLY ROTATED AND PULLED THE LGT X OFF THE RWY. WE ROTATED BTWN V1 AND VR AND WERE AIRBORNE NEAR TXWY Q WITH THE LIGHT TWIN ABOUT 1000-1500' AHEAD OF US ON CTRLINE OF THE RWY TAXIING DOWN THE RWY (SAME DIRECTION). WE PASSED ABOUT 50' OVER THE TOP OF THE LIGHT TWIN ABOUT 1000' BEFORE THE END OF THE RWY. AFTER GEAR RETRACTION I CALLED THE TWR AND RPTED THE TWIN WAS STILL ON THE RWY. THE TWIN WAS A LIGHT YELLOW/BEIGE COLOR WHICH MADE IT DIFFICULT TO SEE ON THE LIGHT COLORED RWY.
