Narrative:

During the takeoff roll I called out 'runway's clear' (a special consideration call due to the presence of people and dogs near and on the runway earlier). Prior to hearing '70 knots' a dog walked directly in from of the plane. I called 'abort abort abort'. During the abort the dog was struck by either or both the nose gear and left main gear. We taxied back to the ramp to shut down; inspected the plane; and the captain spoke with company. Our inspection of the plane did not find any visible damage. After multiple discussions it was determined to aog the plane. The only person I gave my personal information to was a police officer. The pilot in command contacted company; maintenance; and operations. SOP's and training proved to be vital to the safe outcome of this rejected takeoff. It would be worth noting in the 'feasibility' section that during the many hours spent at ZZZZ there were constantly people and dogs walking on and crossing the runway during tower operation. Use vigilance! The database for this [report] is outdated with runways 8/26 at ZZZZ; they are now 9/27.
