Narrative:
Aircraft X came into gjt from the east; I asked him what approach he wanted to ry 29 and he requested the RNAV with direct hansu. I explained to him that to turn him southwest bound to get him lower and then to expect direct hansu from south of the fix. When he got lower; I gave him a 330 heading when able direct hansu. Then I went back and cleared him for the approach. I immediately noticed he was going past hansu and into an area of higher terrain. I gave him the low altitude alert and asked him if he could visually see the ground. He replied that he could and that he was correcting. He said he had a problem with the 'box' and asked to be vectored for the same approach; but with vectors to intercept the final. He landed without incident.

Title: Denver TRACON Controller reported an aircraft did not turn as cleared and entered an area of higher terrain.
