Narrative:
During cruise; number 1 flight attendant contacted me informing me a passenger was suffering a heart attack as verified by a physician on board. We elected to immediately divert to ZZZ for medical assistance. As a result; we landed overweight at 159.0 lbs. We completed all appropriate checklists for the situation and landed uneventfully. Taxied to gate and had passenger taken off by paramedics. Maintenance informed and overweight landing inspection was done.
