Narrative:
Compressor stall at 35;000 feet approaching 30 west track D. We diverted off track; descended and turned toward our diversion destination below 28;000 feet. We briefly had a TA leaving the track with an aircraft below us. The engine was eventually shut down due to egt rise. Normal diversion procedures were followed and a safe landing was made.
