Narrative:

After taking off from slc #2, while on a downwind departure, I contacted slc approach to obtain a clearance through the slc TCA southbound to saf. I expected slc to give me a squawk and altitude to clear their airspace to the south. The controller was highly indignant that I had just barely entered the TCA. Instead of being reasonable, he insisted I remain clear of the TCA, which he repeated a couple of times. The reasonable thing to do would have been to give me a squawk, altitude and sep, since I was only going to be in the TCA 1-2 mins.
