Narrative:

VFR flight from ontario, or, to boi direct via LORAN, called boi approach control approximately 20 mi to the west and request clearance for landing. Controller informed me of flying through a published parachute jump area (jump west, STAR, identification) with floor to 15000' and 5 mi radius. I was 1100' AGL and 2-2 1/2 with cf ii as to where it was published as restr area. He and one other cf ii could not tell me that jump west was restr. It is not covered in NOTAMS, airport facility directory, sectionals, wacs or airport guide. My cf ii had to call the boi FSS to find where it was published. It is in the NOAA airport facs directory. This is one publication not read or kept by most pilots. If it is a restr area it should be more accessible to pilots, ie, charts, ATIS (where active) NOTAMS, pilot briefing from FSS.
