Narrative:

On taxi out at hpn, after review of SID, we were told to hold short of ILS critical line. We stopped on taxiway 'east' at intersection 'T' as indicated by taxi signs, tower then advised to taxi up and hold at ILS hold line near hangars. As we proceeded up taxiway 'east' we saw no hold lines or taxi signs indicating another critical line. As we neared the end, we asked the tower again where to hold, and were told to make a 180 degree if able and hold in front of hangars. This we were able to do. During our turn to hold in front of hangars we were given takeoff clearance. All of this activity and confusion near our takeoff (plus compelting checklists etc) caused us both to forget the right turn at 800' on departure. It may seem strange, but if there were any markings for the second hold area the tower wanted us at, there wouldn't have been any confusion or rush at takeoff time and the 800' turn would not have been dumped from our minds. If the tower is going to use this area to hold for ILS critical it needs to be clearly marked.

Title: A TAXIING ACR BECOMES CONFUSED NEARING THE RWY HOLD LINE AND CROSSES. NO OTHER ACFT INVOLVED. PLT MISSES CHANGE TO DEP PROC.

Narrative: ON TAXI OUT AT HPN, AFTER REVIEW OF SID, WE WERE TOLD TO HOLD SHORT OF ILS CRITICAL LINE. WE STOPPED ON TXWY 'E' AT INTXN 'T' AS INDICATED BY TAXI SIGNS, TWR THEN ADVISED TO TAXI UP AND HOLD AT ILS HOLD LINE NEAR HANGARS. AS WE PROCEEDED UP TXWY 'E' WE SAW NO HOLD LINES OR TAXI SIGNS INDICATING ANOTHER CRITICAL LINE. AS WE NEARED THE END, WE ASKED THE TWR AGAIN WHERE TO HOLD, AND WERE TOLD TO MAKE A 180 DEG IF ABLE AND HOLD IN FRONT OF HANGARS. THIS WE WERE ABLE TO DO. DURING OUR TURN TO HOLD IN FRONT OF HANGARS WE WERE GIVEN TKOF CLRNC. ALL OF THIS ACTIVITY AND CONFUSION NEAR OUR TKOF (PLUS COMPELTING CHKLISTS ETC) CAUSED US BOTH TO FORGET THE R TURN AT 800' ON DEP. IT MAY SEEM STRANGE, BUT IF THERE WERE ANY MARKINGS FOR THE SEC HOLD AREA THE TWR WANTED US AT, THERE WOULDN'T HAVE BEEN ANY CONFUSION OR RUSH AT TKOF TIME AND THE 800' TURN WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN DUMPED FROM OUR MINDS. IF THE TWR IS GOING TO USE THIS AREA TO HOLD FOR ILS CRITICAL IT NEEDS TO BE CLRLY MARKED.
