Narrative:

As I approached hyde field to land on runway 6, I contacted controllers at andrews to get a clearance through TCA and vectors. Controllers would not provide clearance because I could get to field from the second officer entering TCA. After overflying the field, however, I executed a course reversal maneuver that may have taken me into the TCA. Because hyde field is bordered closely by the TCA on 3 sides, I would recommend that the controllers be more willing to vector VFR flts through the TCA for landing.

Title: SMA LNDG AT W33 PENETRATES DCA TCA.

Narrative: AS I APCHED HYDE FIELD TO LAND ON RWY 6, I CONTACTED CTLRS AT ANDREWS TO GET A CLRNC THROUGH TCA AND VECTORS. CTLRS WOULD NOT PROVIDE CLRNC BECAUSE I COULD GET TO FIELD FROM THE S/O ENTERING TCA. AFTER OVERFLYING THE FIELD, HOWEVER, I EXECUTED A COURSE REVERSAL MANEUVER THAT MAY HAVE TAKEN ME INTO THE TCA. BECAUSE HYDE FIELD IS BORDERED CLOSELY BY THE TCA ON 3 SIDES, I WOULD RECOMMEND THAT THE CTLRS BE MORE WILLING TO VECTOR VFR FLTS THROUGH THE TCA FOR LNDG.
