Narrative:

Told rochester clearance delivery I was departing 2500' to ledgedale. After takeoff followed instructions from departure controller until terminated about 1 1/2 mi from ledgedale, changed to the field's frequency, saw 'X's' on end of field's one paved runway and talked to airport manager on unicom who assured me field was not closed, only certain portions of asphalt runway, and directed and cleared me to land, which I did on that portion of the field and then xed runway to ramp area. I want to make sure that rochester controller doesn't claim I landed at a closed airport. Rochester clearance delivery didn't advise me of the field being closed, it wasn't closed, and airport manager said it wasn't, and I followed his instructions as to the method and area to land in.
