En route to ord. Approach control gave a heading of 270 degree and speed 170 KTS and what was thought to be to intercept the 22R localizer at ord. This was read back to the controller. Immediately we intercepted the runway 22R localizer at ord maintaining last assigned altitude. The controller noted our turn on to the localizer and indicated we were to expect the 22R localizer.
