Narrative:

Inbound to MMMX had briefed and set up for an otumba 1 arrival based on ATIS. In close to airport, approach control changed arrival to san mateo 2 arrival. Chaos in the cockpit! Quickly pulled out the plate and briefed the new arrival and runway! I pulled out the san mateo 2 departure. Luckily the first officer (PNF) pulled out the san mateo 2 arrival. Same situation exists at MMMX with the otumba 1 arrival and departure and terexpan 1 arrival and departure! Strongly suggest that us FAA and chart maker push to have duplicate names for procedures at the same or close airports eliminated.
