Narrative:

Arriving at gate I set the parking brake; shutdown the engines; turned off the seatbelt sign; and looked outside to give the engine cut signal to the marshaller. He had already given the engine cut/all clear signal indicating it was ok to enter the safety zone. He did this based on habit/expectation bias but mostly because of lack of training or poor training. How do I know this? Because it is becoming more frequent and trending in the wrong direction. This is a major safety issue that will cause severe injury or a fatality if proper emphasis are not put on this immediately. Recommend additional training with emphasis on procedures and consequences of not following procedures.
