Narrative:
A full flow chip detector was found out of the engine causing an in-flight shutdown. Detector was inspected and reinstalled the previous night. I found it to be virtually impossible to install the detector incorrectly and replaced its 'circlip'. The detector kept falling out, therefore, I feel it to be either a faulty, or worn detector. Possibly a chance of sabotage which I feel strongly about.

Title: ACR MECHANIC REPORTS OF A FAULTY CHIP DETECTOR BEING FOUND IN A JET ENGINE THAT HAD BEEN SHUT DOWN IN FLT PRIOR TO INSPECTION. FEELS IT WAS EITHER A FAULTY DETECTOR BECAUSE OF WEAR OR SABOTAGE. IN EITHER EVENT, IT WAS NOT INSTALLED WITH ANY QUALITY CONTROL BEING EXERCISED.
