Narrative:

As we approached [the] gate; noticed marshaller signaling us to park at [a different] gate. We had two wing walkers and a marshaller. I followed the marshaller's instructions. Just prior to the marshaller giving the stop signal; I noticed the aircraft stopped on its own. I set the parking brake and called for the parking checklist. I noticed that the jetway was not being brought up to the aircraft; so I opened the flight deck window. The aircraft had made contact with the jet bridge. After discussing the situation with the marshaller; wing walkers; and jet bridge driver; it was determined that the jet bridge was not in the 'safety zone'. The left wing walker stated that he repeatedly told the marshaller to stop our aircraft from moving forward. The marshaller said he was unfamiliar with parking aircraft at [that] gate and was looking down at the alignment of the nose wheel. He said he did not see or hear the left wing walker telling him to stop. The aircraft came to a stop on centerline about one foot short of the A319 stop line.
