Narrative:

Upon landing in boi we were given instructions by ground control to taxi to the gate. It was night and raining and hard to see the path. We taxied in on the taxiway. We never received gate information on the acars message and could not contact operations so we did not know where to go until we saw the ramp crew waving at us and directing us to the gate. Upon taxi into the gate we noticed a rough surface. It looked like a rough patch of asphalt from the cockpit. The ground crew continued to direct us into the gate. We realized we were on the edge of the taxiway median between the taxiway and the gate. I inspected the aircraft on walk-around and did not notice any abnormalities. The ramp crew did not mention anything regarding us striking a taxiway light and we did not notice or feel anything while taxing. The next morning we were notified that we had struck a taxiway light. At the time of the incident the ramp crew made no attempt to make us aware of any problems or to stop our forward taxi and continued to wave us in. It was dark and wet and we relied on the ground crew to direct us in.
