Narrative:

On the charted visual approach arrival into ATC advised traffic on approach to the parallel runway. We advised we had a visual on the other aircraft. ATC turned us off the arrival with a vector 155 degrees towards the other aircraft; advising us he would turn us back onto the localizer after passing thru the localizer. When we were vectored back onto the localizer and cleared for the visual approach; it placed us exactly paralleling the other carrier aircraft. We had discussed and then placed the transponder in TA. Approaching the FAF we received a descend RA. We descended as instructed following the RA. The other aircraft was descending with us so it gave another RA. I placed the transponder in altitude only attempting to silence the RA as we had a visual on the other aircraft and it should not have been sounding an RA in TA. We continued descending and landed uneventfully.
