Narrative:

Aircraft experienced an engine rollback with extremely high egt (approximately 891 degrees C); leading to an automatic engine shutdown and engine fire indication. All memory items were accomplished and the engine fire checklist was accomplished as well (engine fire indication extinguished after the fuel control switch was placed to cutoff). An off-track divert was performed with a 15 NM offset to the left. After the offset was established; a descent below FL280 was executed to FL205 initially. Contact with ATC was made through [arinc] and a clearance was received to maintain FL200 and cleared to divert. Upon arrival; the [flight] crew executed the ILS; landed safely overweight; and stopped on the runway for inspection from arff. Flight was towed to a remote parking site to deplane crew and passengers.
