Narrative:
Holding short of runway 36R at clt, ground control told us to taxi into position and hold. After crossing the hold line, but before crossing the edge of the runway itself, we were told to hold short. We stopped and told them that we had already crossed the hold line, and asked for further instructions. They told us to hold position, and then cleared a twin turboprop to land. At the time of landing clearance, the twin was 2 mi out.

Title: GND CONFLICT BETWEEN ACR MLG OVER HOLD LINE ON RWY 36R, AND LNDG TWIN TURBOPROP AT CLT.
Narrative: HOLDING SHORT OF RWY 36R AT CLT, GND CTL TOLD US TO TAXI INTO POS AND HOLD. AFTER XING THE HOLD LINE, BUT BEFORE XING THE EDGE OF THE RWY ITSELF, WE WERE TOLD TO HOLD SHORT. WE STOPPED AND TOLD THEM THAT WE HAD ALREADY CROSSED THE HOLD LINE, AND ASKED FOR FURTHER INSTRUCTIONS. THEY TOLD US TO HOLD POS, AND THEN CLRED A TWIN TURBOPROP TO LAND. AT THE TIME OF LNDG CLRNC, THE TWIN WAS 2 MI OUT.
