Narrative:

East of pke on J-96 it became necessary to deviate slightly north of course to avoid WX. Deviation was very minor and we didn't feel it necessary to call the center as we felt we stayed within the confines of the arwy. Abq wanted to know 'what are you doing'; returned to arwy centerline and nothing else was said. After further investigation it was discovered that a coach passenger was using his own cellular telephone which explained why our navigation display CDI's appeared to be operating so erratically. It's possible that our minor deviation was more pronounced than we thought.
