Narrative:

While taxiing into gate; following electronic guidance; had to stop for a cargo hauler to be moved from right side then continued into gate after making sure clear zone was clear all around. While following electronic guidance; at 3 feet prior [to our parking spot;] heard grinding sound from left engine. Immediately stopped and looked up into glass on concourse and saw some white smoke coming over top of jetway and engine area being blocked by the jetway. Immediately shut down both engines and called for fire trucks. Told passengers to remain seated and called operations. Was then towed to final 3 feet and parked. Unloaded passengers and cleared customs. Was told that we ingested an air hose on ramp.
