Narrative:

Requested a left turnout from takeoff on 20R across departure path of 20L. Request made prior to takeoff on 20R. When cleared for takeoff, I assumed I was cleared for left turnout. After takeoff, left turn initiated at 50' AGL. This was begun at this altitude because WX was hot and a tower lies in departure path approximately 2 mi from point where turn was initiated. Tower called traffic to me: 'aircraft on departure 20L, continue straight out from 20R,' or similar such phrases. I followed the instructions and listened while the small aircraft departing on 20L queried the tower about my clearance. The incident could have been avoided had I verified that I was cleared for a left turn before initiating it.

Title: POTENTIAL CONFLICT WHEN DEP SMA TURNS INTO SECOND SMA DEPARTING PARALLEL RWY.

Narrative: REQUESTED A LEFT TURNOUT FROM TKOF ON 20R ACROSS DEP PATH OF 20L. REQUEST MADE PRIOR TO TKOF ON 20R. WHEN CLRED FOR TKOF, I ASSUMED I WAS CLRED FOR LEFT TURNOUT. AFTER TKOF, LEFT TURN INITIATED AT 50' AGL. THIS WAS BEGUN AT THIS ALT BECAUSE WX WAS HOT AND A TWR LIES IN DEP PATH APPROX 2 MI FROM POINT WHERE TURN WAS INITIATED. TWR CALLED TFC TO ME: 'ACFT ON DEP 20L, CONTINUE STRAIGHT OUT FROM 20R,' OR SIMILAR SUCH PHRASES. I FOLLOWED THE INSTRUCTIONS AND LISTENED WHILE THE SMA DEPARTING ON 20L QUERIED THE TWR ABOUT MY CLRNC. THE INCIDENT COULD HAVE BEEN AVOIDED HAD I VERIFIED THAT I WAS CLRED FOR A LEFT TURN BEFORE INITIATING IT.
