Narrative:
Runway 36R jets depart on 025 degree heading, propellers on a 070 degree heading. Air carrier Z was too far north of clt and I was trying to work him back south. I climbed air carrier Y to 8000 ft. My next departure, air carrier X, was turned to a 090 degree heading to join the transition. I planned to turn air carrier Y sebound (out of the way of air carrier X). I saw a potential confliction with air carrier Z and air carrier X. I turned air carrier X to a 120 degree heading to resolve the conflict. As a result, I turned air carrier X into air carrier Y flight path. I thought I had already turned air carrier Y southeast but I had not. Air carrier X advised he had an RA and was climbing. I climbed air carrier X to 12000 ft and turned to 090 degrees to join the transition. I realize I shouldn't have climbed air carrier Y off of the airport to 8000 ft or turned air carrier X 090 degrees to join the transition so soon. I also realize I got 'tunnel vision' resolving the air carrier Z and air carrier X potential confliction.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: CLT CTLR BECOMES TOO FOCUSED ON A POTENTIAL CONFLICT BTWN THE SECOND ACR DEP AND AN ARR ACR BEING DELAYED VECTORED, TURNING THE SECOND ACR DEP INTO THE FLT PATH OF A PREVIOUSLY DEPARTING ACR.
Narrative: RWY 36R JETS DEPART ON 025 DEG HDG, PROPS ON A 070 DEG HDG. ACR Z WAS TOO FAR N OF CLT AND I WAS TRYING TO WORK HIM BACK S. I CLBED ACR Y TO 8000 FT. MY NEXT DEP, ACR X, WAS TURNED TO A 090 DEG HDG TO JOIN THE TRANSITION. I PLANNED TO TURN ACR Y SEBOUND (OUT OF THE WAY OF ACR X). I SAW A POTENTIAL CONFLICTION WITH ACR Z AND ACR X. I TURNED ACR X TO A 120 DEG HDG TO RESOLVE THE CONFLICT. AS A RESULT, I TURNED ACR X INTO ACR Y FLT PATH. I THOUGHT I HAD ALREADY TURNED ACR Y SE BUT I HAD NOT. ACR X ADVISED HE HAD AN RA AND WAS CLBING. I CLBED ACR X TO 12000 FT AND TURNED TO 090 DEGS TO JOIN THE TRANSITION. I REALIZE I SHOULDN'T HAVE CLBED ACR Y OFF OF THE ARPT TO 8000 FT OR TURNED ACR X 090 DEGS TO JOIN THE TRANSITION SO SOON. I ALSO REALIZE I GOT 'TUNNEL VISION' RESOLVING THE ACR Z AND ACR X POTENTIAL CONFLICTION.
