Narrative:

Was instructed to taxi to 23R at rdu. First officer read back correct instructions. While crew was preoccupied with performing before takeoff checklist, captain taxied to 23L crossing runway 14 en route. First officer questioned captain on taxi route and confirmed with ground that we were indeed supposed to go to 23R. Ground/tower worked us into sequence off 23L and remainder of flight was uneventful. Captain later said he did not hear taxi instructions, and had been flying into rdu all month on this trip and had always been given 23L for departure. He said he was in the habit of going to 23L instead of 23R.
